The air cooled cars will never be available again. Vintage Auto can deliver special order vehicles in about 4-6 weeks. First we take an old German made Beetle into Mexico, not to be retired, but to be rejuvenated. There it is stripped of all body and mechanical parts. Now we have the "back bone" or chassis of the VW with the vehicle identification number (VIN). The chassis is then refurbished and prepared for the upcoming transformation. Next the new donor car's body is removed, and all mechanical parts and running gear are transferred to the U.S. titled, German-made chassis. When I say all I mean ALL! Every part and assembly that can be unbolted is transferred to the patiently waiting chassis. Yes, the drive train is new, so is the rear suspension, front suspension, all brakes, wheels, tires, interior, glass, etc. All parts come with a 12 month warranty against manufactures defect, which is handled through Vintage Auto. After warranty has expired parts are available from local part stores, Volkswagen Dealers and independent Volkswagen Repair Shops in about every state. Wal-Mart has bulbs, belts, oil, plugs, oil filter and wiper blades for this car. With proper maintenance you can get years of trouble free service from this simple peoples car.
